Business Opportunities in Germany
Optimal transport links:
Germany's chemical regions are located at the crossroads of international
transport routes. Deep water harbors in Germany give easy access
to international maritime trans- port. A large number of specialized
chemical logistics companies ensure the smooth transport of chemical
products, complying with high quality and safety standards.
Modern chemical parks and sites offer attractive structures:
The German Association of Chemical Parks focuses on the success
of chemical producers at their locations, offering a wide range
of highly specialized services. In the initial phase, experts
help speed up licensing procedures. Companies can obtain substances
and intermediates. Unique value chains are made possible by the
wide choice and good availability of chemical substances – with
a minimal amount of logistics. Technical installations,
safety and social facilities are made available. Services to investors
comprise the whole spectrum of activities – from planning, construction
and operation to the maintenance and certification of industrial
plants. Locating at a chemical park follows the motto ”plug and
play”. Attractive structures include reliable supplies with a
wide energy mix and safe waste disposal. Production, energy and
waste streams, logistics and infrastructures are closely connected.
Chemical parks and sites are committed to the Responsible Care
principles.
The large variety of chemical parks and sites meets practically
all needs. They are especially suited to chemical, pharmaceutical
and biotechnology companies
Speedy licensing procedures:
Licensing procedures are completed fast and with an early involvement
of competent Public authorities.
Highly qualified staff:
Much importance has always been attached to vocational and advanced
training in the chemical industry. Companies can rely on a unique
dual system: Vocational schools in chemical parks provide theoretical
knowledge, and production companies take care of the practical
side of industrial training.
Knowledge base:
Managements of chemical parks and sites provide chemical producers
with knowledge developed over many decades for their mutual
benefit. In start-up initiatives, managements of chemical parks
and sites support young companies toward a successful future.
Cooperation with universities:
Regarding the density of universities and research institutes,
the chemical regions in Germany rank among the leading areas worldwide.
Universities and research institutes strengthen competitiveness
and open up new potential for innovation.
