ROW2 Technologies to Host Seminar with Gary Pisano Emerging Software Company Presents Web Event with Author of The Development Factory

ROW2 Technologies, Inc., will host a Web seminar featuring Harvard Business School professor and ROW2 advisor Dr. Gary Pisano, the company announced today. The event will take place on June 12, 2002 at 10:00 am ET.

Dr. Pisano is author of The Development Factory: Unlocking the Potential of Process Innovation (Harvard Business School Press, 1997). This book is the result of a four-year study involving 11 major pharmaceutical companies. The study analyzed the development strategies and approaches that contribute to faster and more efficient process development in both biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. It provides a solid framework for seeking improvements in productivity of process development and for winning the race to market.

Dr. Pisano will be sharing lessons learned from his research in a presentation entitled "The Strategic Role of Process Development." He will explore the dynamics of pharmaceutical product and process development and their impact on innovation and time to market. He will highlight how novel process technologies can provide lower costs, higher quality, and increased flexibility. Finally, Dr. Pisano will offer pointers for firms looking to improve their process development expertise.

Dr. Pisano is the Harry E. Figgie, Jr. Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School (HBS). His primary focus at HBS has been Technology, Process Development, Operations Strategy, Vertical Integration, Joint Ventures, Technology Licensing, Healthcare, and Pharmaceuticals.
