ROW2 Technologies, Inc., a premier provider of decision-support solutions and services to process chemists, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Chembourse International Pvt Ltd., a provider of intelligent solutions for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. "The acquisition of Chembourse will enable us to provide our customers cost-effective and comprehensive solutions for the design of new routes to chemical compounds and the sourcing of innovative intermediates and starting materials," said Ken Bakshi, CEO of ROW2 Technologies. Design and selection of commercial routes for pharmaceutical and chemical compounds is a critical step in new product development, and studies have shown that effective route selection can have significant implications for product development cycle time and production costs. The new ROW2 initiatives include services tailored to process development departments: RouteDesign, a computer-enhanced commercial route analysis, and RouteIncubator™, a laboratory realized route development. RouteDesign -- The RouteDesign report provides comprehensive research that leverages the commercial route-building knowledge in our application ChemSpire™ by developing innovative, optimal and scalable synthetic routes. It also includes key information about all relevant suppliers with their fully validated contact details. RouteDesign will allow our clients to focus their limited resources on value-added activities and to ensure comprehensive coverage of patent options -- crucial to defending valuable intellectual property. RouteIncubator™ -- RouteIncubator builds upon the information provided in RouteDesign and allows the client to select the projected commercial route(s) to their target compound(s) to be proven in the lab. RouteIncubator, in combination with the commercial chemical knowledge in ChemSpire™, will increase confidence that the chemistry selected to make the target will scale-up to manufacture and leave more time for the chemists to perform route optimization.
